Middle of the Season Update

Hello All!

My name is Gloria, I am the Fundraising Coordinator here at canyon Blooms, Petals for Patients. It is my goal through this blog to share weekly updates from the farm.

LOTS of new changes coming from the farm since our last update. We recently hired a new Event’s Coordinator, we are pleased to welcome Lisa Kane to the team. She will be officially joining us in August and we are thrilled to have her lead our pop-up events team through the rest of our season!

From the field team, we are sad to say goodbye this month to Lydia, who has been with us since last season! She has been an amazing team member on the field and we will miss her dearly! Thank you Lydia for bringing us so much light during your time with us. We wish you all the best in your next chapter in life!

We are still looking for a new field team member! If you or someone you know is interested in joining our field team please send us your resume to canyonblooms@outlook.com

Our cold room expansion has been completed! We are hoping to raise $4000, over the next 3 weeks to help us recuperate the costs of this expansion. As the need in our community grows, we have ramped up seeding and planting. As a result we quickly outgrew the cold room and it became very essential to expand the cold room asap! As our Executive Director, Kara Lolley put it, “We have flowers coming out of our ears!”. If you would like to help us cover the costs of this expansion you can donate through our donation portal here on our website.

From our field team to our studio team we truly have an amazing group of people working hard in this ever changing weather, adjusting as needed and getting flowers harvested almost daily. Our studio team has been producing truly beautiful vases and bouquets which are then delivered by our team of volunteers to the 15 organizations we partner with.

Over the course of the next couple weeks I will interview each member of our teams to get to know them more and highlight their efforts. Be on the lookout for these stories. We truly have some amazing individuals helping us make this dream a reality!

One of our partner organizations has recently offered to help us tie vases with our cards. They offer this as an activity to their memory care residents and we hear they are delighted to help do their part. Thank you Chesterly Memory Care!
